The topics covered by Mr. Spesia included key issues pertaining to the valuation of permanent and temporary easement rights for pipelines and other utilities in eminent domain litigation. John provided his insight into an appraiser’s role in both the negotiation phase and the litigation phase of an eminent domain action. Along with the other distinguished members of the panel, Mr. Spesia also addressed generally-accepted appraisal methodologies when approaching the issue of remainder damage.

Former President of the Appraisal Institute Joseph Magdziarz said,

“Mr. Spesia has established himself as a pre-eminent lawyer on the subject of valuing utility easements and assessing remainder damage in eminent domain litigation. His comments and insight were well received by members of the Appraisal Institute at our annual meeting in Denver.”
