Alexander J. Boyd
Alexander J. Boyd joined the firm of Spesia & Taylor as an associate attorney in August of 2022. Upon receiving his JD from The John Marshall Law School in 2017, Alex spent three years working as an Assistant State’s Attorney in both Vermilion and Champaign County where he prosecuted juvenile delinquent and major felony cases including being the second chair on a murder trial in 2019. In 2020 Alex moved to Will County with his wife and worked in private practice where he handled cases involving criminal defense, expungement, and other litigation matters.
Alex received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University, where he was an active member of the Student Senate from 2010 – 2012 and runner-up in the Model Illinois Government Moot Court Competition in 2012. After graduating from EIU, Alex spent nearly two years working for the Governor’s Office of the State of Wisconsin before attending law school.
While in law school, Alex was a member of the Student Bar Association, served as a teacher’s assistant, and was a member of the American Association of Justice Trial Advocacy team, while also working as a 711 licensed attorney for the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office and Public Defender’s Office. Alex has been an active member of the Knights of Columbus since 2008 and currently resides in Will County with his Wife and daughter.
