John R. Rodack III
John R. Rodack III joined Spesia & Taylor in November of 2023 as an associate attorney. He attended Illinois State University for his undergraduate studies, where he distinguished himself as a student leader and performer in the Gamma Phi Circus. Notably, John performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City alongside GRAMMY® Award winner Billy Porter. John graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration.
For his legal education, John attended DePaul University College of Law. During his time at DePaul, he excelled academically, winning the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Property Law. He was the captain of the National Trial Team, leading the team to victory in the school’s first regional championship at the American Association for Justice’s National Trial Team Competition, he was a 711 licensed attorney in DePaul University’s Civil Litigation and Health Law Clinic, and a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. John earned his Juris Doctorate from DePaul in May 2023.
While in law school, John clerked for a private firm, gaining practical experience in the legal field. He contributed to legal scholarship with an article titled “Fraudulent Transfers Versus Disqualifying Transfers Under Medicaid’s Look-Back Rule,” which was published in the Illinois State Bar Association’s Healthcare Lawyer Section.
Since joining Spesia & Taylor, John has been actively involved in the firm’s complex commercial litigation and personal injury practice groups. Additionally, he is a part of the firm’s municipal practice group, conducting legal research and drafting contracts and ordinances. John has also assisted in advising solar energy company clients on regulatory compliance and development issues. His practice areas include Trial Practice, Personal Injury, Business and Commercial Litigation, Public Utilities, Eminent Domain, Municipal Law, Land Use & Zoning, and Commercial Real Estate.
Recently, John began volunteering his time as a mentor coach with America Needs You, a nonprofit organization helping low-income first-generation college students succeed and build the skills necessary to prepare for long-term careers. He is also an active member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Chicago, the Illinois State Bar Association, Will County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, Lawyers for the Creative Arts, and on the mentee board of the Legal Mentor Network.
