Municipal Law Attorney Chris Spesia Successful in Recent Annexation
Recently, Partner Chris Spesia successfully finalized two Amendments to existing Annexation Agreements on behalf of the Village of Minooka. As amended, the agreements allow for the expansion of existing industrial parks and increased economic development in the Village. In the first Amendment, the Village approved a 10-acre expansion of the International Center South Industrial Park and also revised the subdivision’s plat to allow larger buildings to be located on the site. In the second Amendment, the Village secured a commitment from Minooka Ridge, LLC, that it will begin construction of a 925,000 square foot spec building within one year. The Amendment also included cash donations to the Village and commitments to complete infrastructure that will support further development in the area. According to Partner Spesia, “both Amendments were in furtherance of the Village Board’s vision to continue to increase economic development and to diversify the Village’s tax base.”
